Places to Eat in Savannah

You like to ask the assistant innkeepers what they’re favorite places to eat are, so we took it upon ourselves to compile a little list here are their recommendations:

From Pam – She’s been hostessing our guests for 27 years!  She knows a thing or two about Savannah…

"My name is Pam and I have worked for the Bed and Breakfast Inn  for 27 years and have watched it grow from a seven room shared bath Bed and Breakfast to what you see today. I enjoy reading mysteries and Scifi , and spending time with my grandchildren.  Two of my favorite downtown Restaurants are Garibaldi’s ( a charming Italian  Restaurant) and Belford’s  Seafood and Steaks. They have a great terrace which looks out on to the pedestrian walk and great food! "

From Jenna – our youthful free-spirited world-traveler

I’m a 27-year-old college graduate who has road tripped New Zealand and rapelled in Mexico.  I study Japanese daily and write science fiction and fantasy novels so you know I love Savannah’s rich ghost history!  I recommend Casbah for the atmosphere of a Moroccan tent and delicious Apricot Chicken (~$20), authenticity verified by my Lebanese friend Nura.  If you want something close and casual, The Sentient Bean is the local college hang-out.  Lulu’s Chocolate Bar is a classy night-spot that will satisfy your sweet tooth (try the Strawberry Suspension Cake).  I also recommend seeking out Echo Square on River St and the taste-test area of Byrd Cookie Company.

From Paula: who takes care of our guests like they are family.

Hi, my name is Paula and at the age of 62 I am thrilled to finally be a member of the "inn" crowd.

While you are in Savannah one of the most pleasurable activities is dining out.  One of my favorite spots for lunch is the Soho South Cafe on Liberty St..  They have a great selection of salads, soups, and sandwiches and you may enjoy browsing their art gallery. Try their crab cakes!  Another of my favorites at the Soho is the Cuban Panini and one of my sisters always orders the Quiche.

My favorite place for dinner is located on Tybee Island – The Crab Shack!  A great place for family and friends to gather and a terrific low country boil.  The crab legs ain’t bad either!  In downtown Savannah you might want to give Jazz’d, the tapas bar, a try.  They provide music Tuesday through Sunday and great food with lots of diversity all the time!
