There is always something to do in Savannah! The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce website, www.savannahvisit.com, has one of the most comprehensive listings of events we’ve found to date! The Creative Coast Alliance, www.creativecoast.org, also publishes weekly events calendar showcasing the area’s artistic scenes and talents.  They also are a wonderful source for those thinking about relocating to the Savannah/Low Country area. Check out SavannahNow, the online branch of the Savannah Morning News, under the "DO" section for another terrific source of happenings around town.

Now  – March 25th – Tea at Mrs. Davenports

www.davenporthousemuseum.org  Learn about tea traditions and experience an early 19th century tea in the historic atmosphere of the Isaiah Davenport House Museum. Patrons will be oriented to the history of tea and tea traditions relating to the early 19th century consumer. They will tour areas of the home where tea service took place and will participate in an afternoon tea given with costumed interpreters. Reservations recommended. Limited attendance. Thursdays, some Fridays and one Wednesday in March.

 

 

Now – 21st Annual Savannah Black Heritage Festival

The 21st Annual Savannah Black Heritage Festival presents events and activities for every age and interest. Cultural education, performing and visual arts, ethnic cuisine, crafts, fun and family are emphasized. There will be music of every genre and performances by national recording artists and dancers, local youth talent showcases, historic tours, visual art exhibitions by internationally acclaimed and local artists and sculptors, lectures, spoken word and dramatic productions. All events are free and open to the public.

 

 

February 26th – March 7th – Savannah Restaurant Week

Participating restaurants will be offering 3 course meals for $30 per person during this 10-day celebration of Savannah’s cultural heritage.  Visit www.savannahrestaurantweek.com

 

March 17th – 186th St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the 186th Annual Savannah St. Patrick’s Day Parade! It is the second largest St. Patrick’s Day parade in the country!   www.savannahstpatricksday.com

 

March 18th – April 3rd Savannah Music Festival

The Savannah Music Festival (SMF) is Georgia’s largest musical arts festival and one of the most distinctive cross-genre music festivals in the world. SMF is building a robust history on its devotion to living, vibrant musical traditions, regularly presenting commissioned works, unique and imaginative productions and rare regional appearances by renowned artists in jazz, classical, blues, bluegrass, gospel and other styles of American and international roots music. www.savannahmusicfestival.org

 

March 25th – 28th 75th Annual Savannah Tour of Homes and Gardens

This annual spring event offers self-guided walking tours through private homes and gardens in Savannah’s Historic District. Each day a variety of home and garden sites will be opened to tour guests. Each day a different neighborhood is featured, so a ticket is required for each day’s tour. Guests will have a 3-hour time period to tour the different sites each day. www.savannahtourofhomes.org
